Known as \"wood opal,\" this material retains the wood\'s organic patterns through the opalization process, which can impart hues such as blue. Unlike typical petrified wood, the opal replaces the wood cells, preserving intricate details. Classified as a fossil, this wood dates back to the Miocene era, around 20 million years ago, from an ancient Indonesian forest. The composition primarily consists of silica, occasionally mixed with minerals like fluorite, pyrite, or calcite.
